LAKE NORMAN AIRPARK OWNERS ASSOCIATION

The Lake Norman Air Park Owners Association, Inc. is a not-for-profit corporation organized under the laws of the State of North Carolina.

Any person or entity who is the owner of record of a lot shall be a member of the Association.

The Association is governed by the Board of Directors including a President, Vice President, Secretary and Treasurer, the Past President and a representative of the General Aviation area. Other members may be added if necessary.

Board Meetings are called by the President of the Association and are usually held at the Pilots Lounge in the General Aviation Office.

The official business meeting is held in February, at which time Officers and Board Members are elected, and the operating budget for the year is approved. We usually have another meeting in the fall with a big cook-out for all to enjoy.

Annual dues are determined by dividing the total budget by the total number of residential and general aviation lot owners. For the year 2007, it was billed and payable in one installment. The amount assessed was $425 per lot. The budget covers all expenses incurred in the operation of the Air Park, as well as accumulating funds in a capital improvement account.

The CC&R'S and BY-LAWS cover all lot owners – General Aviation as well as Residential.

Since all lots have been sold and only re-sales are available, prospective buyers are urged to have their agent obtain a copy of the CC&R’s and By-Laws for review. Should you decide to purchase a re-sale home or lot, you should know that the State of North Carolina has passed legislation giving more power to Home Owner Associations to deal with delinquent members and the collection of past-due assessments. Be sure that the owner of any property that interests you is current in their payments.

During the summer and fall of 2003, the entire runway was repaved and a new taxiway was installed. Centerlines and edge marking of the runway were completed, and a new runway lighting system was installed. During December of 2004, a new PAPI unit was installed on the right side of Runway 14. It is set for a four (4) degree glide slope. There is also a PAPI unit on the left side of Runway 32 and it is also set for a four (4) degree glide slope. Both units are on a timer and operate continuously during night the time hours.
